New Literacy & Numeracy Program

Our monthly literacy and feeding program officially launches this month

Last month, we brought our Bigay Puso sa Pasko program to a new community: Sitio Culasisi in Antipolo, Rizal.

Antipolo is the capital city of Rizal, a mountainous province bordering Metro Manila and named after the national hero of the Philippines.

Sition Culasisi is a remote mountain community within Antipolo. Although it is located just outside of Metro Manila, many members of the community have never left the area due to its isolation and the high cost of transportation. Because of this, many of the kids in the community are unable to attend school due to the distance and are still illiterate.

We are happy to announce that we are officially launching our new Literacy & Numeracy program in Sitio Culasisi at the end of this month.

The program will teach basic reading, writing, and math skills to the kids in the Sitio Culasisi community and will be led by Bigay Puso founder and teacher Shirley E. Alambra, along with a team of experienced teachers from West Fairview Elementary School and Lupang Pangako Elementary School. Shirley is a dedicated educator with 20 years of teaching experience under the Department of Education Philippines, where she currently holds the rank of Master Teacher II (Selection Division of Quezon City).

Literacy & Numeracy will also include a feeding program for the kids and will be held monthly at our new Mountain View Free Learning Center.

To support our Literacy & Numeracy program, you can help by sharing about it on social media or making a donation. Any amount makes a huge difference in the lives and communities of these children.

The cost to sponsor one monthly program is US $30 or PHP 1500. If you or your organization would like to partner with us by sponsoring our program for the month, please message us or send us an email at info@bigaypuso.org.
